We all need cool smartphone covers, right? Well, these might be the perfect phone accessory if you’re a fan of the hugely popular Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. Yes, these futuristic-looking items are smartphone cases made in the image of Evangelion machines, and what fan wouldn’t want a bit of Eva armor protecting their phone?

The cases, made for the iPhone 6, have been created by the Taiwanese mobile accessory manufacturer CORESUIT as part of a collaboration with the Evangelion franchise to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series’ TV broadcast.

To come up with a product design worthy of the collaborative project, the designing team at CORESUIT actually made a trip to Tokyo and even visited the studio creating Evangelion animation for inspiration.

In the end, they came up with three special armor type cases with an abstract yet bold design.

The Evengelion smartphone cases are available from several online shopping sites, including Amazon Japan, for a price of 9,800 yen (US$82) each. That may seem a little on the pricey side for a phone case, but hey, we’re guessing that plenty of fans would be more than happy to pay that amount to be able to dress their phones up in Evangelion armor. It probably makes you feel like your phone is well-protected too!  According to the product information page on the website of Pleiades Systems Designs, which distributes the cases in Japan, even the Japanese Evangelion animation team apparently thinks quite highly of the designs.

So, Evangelion fans, what are you waiting for? This could be your chance to own a piece of precious Evangelion armor and carry it around with you in style!
