It’s dangerous to go alone, so go forth with epic and powerful music.
Nintendo loves to celebrate their most famous games with gusto and fanfare. As 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo is sure to have plenty of events lined up for the occasion. One of them is a set of 30th anniversary concerts that will be performed by some of the best philharmonic orchestras in Japan.
While there have been Zelda concerts in Japan and around the world before, this event promises to be special. The concert series will play in only three cities in Japan near the end of 2016. There will be a performance at the Main hall of the ROHM Theatre in Kyoto on October 1, two shows at the Concert hall in the Tokyo Metropolitan theater (afternoon and evening) on October 16 and in the Forest hall at the NTK Hall in Nagoya on December 14.
Seating at the concert halls will be divided into three sections, A seats for 7,500 yen (US$72.50), S seats for 9,000 yen ($87) and Master seats for 12,000 yen ($116). Attendees will have a chance to purchase limited edition 30th anniversary goods at the performances and lucky purchasers of the Master seats will get a specially designed ticket and also receive a limited set of commemorative pins. We say lucky because you’ll have to enter your name in a lottery in order to buy any of the tickets regardless of level.
Interested Zelda fans can apply for the lottery right now online. Master seat entries will be accepted from now (June 30) until July 5 at 11:59 p.m. JST, while S and A seat entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. JST on July 11. Winners will have a very specific time frame within which they can claim their tickets, so make sure you read all the details before you decide to enter.
If you are a Zelda fan in Japan, you owe it to yourself to attend one of these concerts. So start gathering all the rupees you’ve been saving, smash those pots and cut some grass, because you don’t want your legend of Zelda to be a story of missed opportunities!
