We’re happy to say that details on the locations, menu and merchandise for the Kirby Café have now been released!
We previously reported that a first-ever Kirby Café was going to open in Japan sometime in August, and although details were scant at that time, the information we’ve been waiting for has been announced on the cafe website, including pictures of the cute (as expected) food menu!
▼ Awww …. just look at those Kirby pancakes! The concept apparently is that they’ll be using in-season ingredients to create foods to give you the energy you need to recover from the summer heat.
We now know that a Kirby Café, along with an official shop selling original merchandise, will open in Osaka at the LUCUA 1100 shopping center and at the Tokyo Skytree Town/Solamachi entertainment complex in Tokyo. While information on the Tokyo location is still limited, it’s been announced that in Osaka, the cafe will operate from August 5 to September 4, and the official shop from August 3 to August 23. There will also be an official merchandise shop (without the cafe) open in Nagoya at the Nagoya Parco Department Store from August 24 to September 4.
Let’s take a look at the menu and merchandise selection that they’ve announced for the Osaka cafe and the official merchandise shops in Osaka and Nagoya.
From the cafe, we have foods created by chefs with experience in the kitchen at top hotels such as the Hotel Okura and the Hotel New Otani Osak, including :
▼ A collection of adorable Kirby-themed desserts
▼ The “Popstar Curry with Chunks of Seafood“
▼ The “Whispy Woods Green Greens Plate“
▼ The “King Dedede’s Fuller than Full Plate“
▼ The “Maxim Tomato Full Restoration Pasta“
▼ The “Fountain of Dreams Sparkling Cocktail” (non-alcoholic)
And as a bonus, some select food items, including the Popstar Curry, the Whispy Woods plate, the King Dedede plate and the Maxim Tomato pasta, even come with one of these adorable two-and-a-half-dimensional mini figures!
Of course, fans will also be just as excited about the Kirby merchandise to be offered at the official shop, including the following items:
▼ Capsule toy Kirby Café tin badges (10 types)
▼ Hand-painted Kirby Café stackable mugs (yellow or blue)
▼ Original Kirby Café cotton tote bag
▼ Original Kirby Café pouch with charm
▼ Kirby spandex cushion and neck pillow
▼ Maxim Tomato spandex cushion and neck pillow
It sure looks like fans will have a hard time choosing what to eat and buy! What we’ve shown above actually isn’t the entire selection, and there will be other items too, which you can check out on the official Kirby Café website. (Unfortunately, the site is in Japanese only, but you can still see the cute pictures.)
They’ve also announced that the cafe in Tokyo will be an affiliate shop of Bar del Sole, the very first Italian style bar/coffee shop in Japan to be recognized by the Italian Espresso National Institute as an establishment that serves certified Italian Espresso, and that the menu there will include Italian food such as pizza and even a fruit-based pasta, so it sounds like those of us in Tokyo also have something yummy to look forward to. We just hope we don’t have to wait too long for the Tokyo cafe to open!
