It turns out her son has been practicing his snake charming skills.
Many hands make light work, as the saying goes, which is why this Japanese mother thought she could rely on her second eldest son to help out with a spot of cleaning in the bathroom. Every time he was in charge of cleaning, however, he would come out totally drenched, while the bathroom looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned at all. The reason why remained a mystery until one day she came across his unusual cleaning style, which made him look more like a snake charmer than a tub-scrubbing cleaner.

By holding the shower hose in his hand, the water pressure makes the shower head “dance” back and forth inside the bathtub like a charmed snake. The boy’s awesome skill shows he’s had a lot of practice in the past, which probably included a few out-of-control moments that ended up with him soaked in water!
Since the video was posted on Twitter, it’s been retweeted over 46,000 times and received more than 50,000 likes, with a surprising number of commenters revealing they enjoy doing the exact same thing in the bathroom.
“I love doing this – it’s so much fun!”
“I remember doing this all the time when I was little!”
“When I was a kid I used to imagine it was a plane landing and taking off.”
“My kids do this and soak everything, including the ceiling!”
“Our shower head has three levels of water pressure so we can choose our level of difficulty when we do this!”
With the large majority of Japanese bathrooms using the same type of shower system pictured in the video, if people haven’t tried it before, we’re sure they will after seeing this clip. So if your child or partner comes out covered in water after cleaning the bathroom, now you know what they’ve probably been up to!
