Folding magic that’s handy in a number of situations, including travel.
Imagine you’re out and about minding your own business, when suddenly a car drives by through a mud puddle, soiling your jeans. Now your day’s been ruined and you either have to go home or shell out for a spare pair of trousers, further postponing your dream of finally buying expensive chocolate toothpaste.
If only you’d been been carrying a spare pair of jeans, everything would’ve been all right. But jeans are big, bulky, and could never be portable… right?
Not necessarily! There’s actually an incredibly easy trick to fold jeans down to a fraction of their size in seconds, as this ingenious lady shows.
https://twitter.com/jetpack/status/915290459227992064She makes it look so easy, we had to try it out for ourselves. Because if we can do it, anyone can.
▼ First you’ll need a pair of jeans. Make sure you have another pair
to wear while doing this if you’re attempting it in a public place.
▼ Fold them in half lengthways.
▼ Take the upper leg and fold it perpendicularly outwards, just below the knee.
▼ From the waist, roll the jeans up towards the bottom of the leg,
rolling them up as tightly as you can.
▼ It should look something like this, or probably better.
▼ Take the bottom of the leg that is still sticking out
and fold it out over itself and the rest of rolled-up jeans.
▼ Magic! Your jeans now take up just a fraction of the space, and make for a useful
travel pillow to boot, even if it took a little longer than the woman in the video.
It might also prove handy if you’re trying to cram stuff into your luggage and don’t have a friend to sit on your suitcase as you try to shut it. Or for those who want to keep their room tidy but don’t have their very own personal clothes-folding robot.
And if you’re looking for even more tips about travelling as light as possible, we have 13 packing tips from a Japanese packing pro to help you out.
