Sexy superhero moves with no CGI involved!
Many people dream of flying through the air like a superhero on a mission, and one of those dreamers is our reporter P.K. Sanjun, whose yearning to fly grew even stronger after seeing the new Captain Marvel movie, which was released in cinemas around Japan last week.
If there’s one thing we know about P.K., it’s that if he sets his mind on something, he won’t rest until he finds a way to achieve it. And even when faced with the seemingly impossible task of flying, P.K. impressed us all with his lateral thinking, when he booked himself in to a session at FlyStation Japan.
Constructed in 2017, at a whopping cost of 2.5 billion yen (US$22.4 million), FlyStation Japan is located in Tokyo’s neighbouring prefecture of Saitama. Currently the only indoor skydiving facility in all of Japan, FlyStation Japan has acted as the venue for the World Championships, so P.K. was keen to check it all out.
When he arrived, he was shown around the facility, and introduced to the wind tunnel, where he would be unleashing his inner Captain Marvel.
▼ He met up with his instructor and got suited up for his superhero adventure.
After watching a five-minute safety video, it was time to head into the wind tunnel, and…well, let’s just take a look at what’s possible here first, with the sexy superhero moves shown by the instructor.
▼ Watch until the end for the awesome exit.
P.K.’s instructor could get a job as a superhero double with those incredible moves! So how would P.K. fare in the wind tunnel? Let’s take a look at this clip to find out.
Sure, it wasn’t as impressive as the instructor’s performance, but given this was his first attempt at any type of skydiving, P.K. did pretty well!
P.K. was on cloud nine after his indoor skydive, and thrilled with the photos he received after the experience. He said it was more like floating than flying, and because the instructor is with you the whole time, it’s safe for even beginners with zero skydiving experience.
P.K. had never felt his body weightless like this before, and he absolutely loved it. He highly recommends trying it out, particularly if you’re an adventure-lover looking for something unusual to add to your itinerary while visiting Japan.
Saitama often gets a bad rap for being less interesting than its neighbours, but it’s just a short train ride from the city to get there from Tokyo, and not only does it have an awesome indoor skydiving facility, it now has a Moomin Theme Park too!
