Never-before seen flavour coming to stores nationwide this autumn.

Coca-Cola Japan has been making news for its beautifully designed bottles, which sparkle with pink sakura petals in spring and glisten with the colours of fall foliage in autumn. This year, though, autumn is set to arrive with a brand new flavour on board, as the company releases its first-ever Apple Coca-Cola.

This world-first for the global drinks giant is set to quench the thirst of Japanese customers as a seasonal release designed to capture the taste of autumn. The addition of apple to the original mix is said to create a “rich, luxurious taste” that’s perfect for the colder months when athletic meets are commonly held, and holidays like Halloween are celebrated.

The new Coke is set to stand out on supermarket shelves with its red-and-gold label showcasing leaf-topped apples dancing upon a carbonated fizz.

The new drink will be sold throughout autumn, and into winter as well, when the company hopes to cater to demand for all things red, white, or gold during the Christmas and New Year holidays, when lucky colours like these are highly sought after for celebratory events.

Given that Coca-Cola Peach was a hit in the summers of 2018 and 2019, this new flavoured coke looks set to be just as popular. The Coca-Cola Apple will be available nationwide from 16 September at a recommended retail price of 140 yen (US$1.29).
