Sweet heavens, someone help us because we’re squirming half in delight and half in agony after seeing the newest press release from Starbucks Japan. Half in delight, because we’ve been given a glimpse of the divine-looking new Frappuccinos that will be coming out later this month, and half in agony because we can’t have them RIGHT NOW!

And unless you have a deadly hatred of sweets, we think you just may feel the same way after hearing the description of the two new banana and chocolate based Frappuccinos that were announced earlier this week. Yup, chocolate and banana — you really can’t go wrong with that combination!

The “Fresh Banana & Chocolate Cream Frappuccino” and “Fresh Banana & Caramel Cream Frappuccino“, which will be available at Starbucks cafes across Japan for a limited time from April 16 to May 11 (or until they sell out), will be their first beverage ever to contain a whole fresh fruit.

Yes, each serving of these Frappuccinos contains a whole banana, and of course, a bunch of other ingredients to infuse the drinks with plenty of sweet goodness.

The “Fresh Banana & Chocolate Cream Frappuccino” will be a chocolate based Frappuccino with a whole banana mixed into it, topped with chocolate brownie crumbs, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. The “Fresh Banana & Caramel Cream Frappuccino” also contains a whole banana, but in a caramel based Frappuccino, and comes topped with marbled caramel and white chocolate brownie crumbs, along with whipped cream and caramel sauce. Now, how does that sound? We don’t know about you, but we were practically drooling just from reading the descriptions — just imagine all those sweet flavors combined in a refreshing frozen drink!

Both Frappuccinos will be served with a special wide straw, which should give the drink a unique texture. They’ll be available only in a Tall size at a price of 610 yen (US$5.90), which means they’ll cost more than a cheap lunch, but the price probably won’t stop sweetaholics from trying the tempting concoction. And judging from the response on the Internet, there seem to be a good number of people who are as excited about these drinks as we are!

For now, though, we guess we just have to count the days until April 16 …
