On 4 June at around 11pm bridal store employee, Eisuke Himoto, allegedly approached a 30-year-old woman on her way home from her part-time job. According to police, he called out to her asking, “Why don’t we get a drink?” to which the woman tried to run away.
Most men at this point would consider attempted escape as a sign that a woman is not into them. Himoto, on the other hand, allegedly felt this had become the perfect opportunity to begin hugging and kissing the woman from behind.
Luckily, Himoto’s same utter lack of judgment would eventually lead to his speedy arrest shortly after.
The 23-year-old suspect then, according to the authorities, felt things had progressed enough to try and get the woman’s digits telling her, “I’ll let you go if you give me your phone number.”
The woman complied with his demand and was released. Now, at this point Himoto had allegedly gotten away with his assault having been able to walk away without his victim screaming for help afterwards. You’d think he’d wake up the next morning and come to realize his actions last night were completely out of line and just let the whole thing slide while he was still clear of criminal charges.
You’d think that, but…
A short time later, the woman received a phone call from a man saying, “Sorry about before.” Figuring it was the same man who had extorted her number out of her earlier, she quickly contacted the police. From there it didn’t take long for them to get to the bottom of things as the suspect’s phone number was now saved in her incoming call memory.
Guys, meeting women can be rough sailing and it’s hard to know what the best move to make is most of the time, so let’s at least learn from the colossally poor choices of others. Next time you find yourself tongue-tied around a lady, just ask yourself, “What would Himoto allegedly not do?” and at least be in the right ballpark.
