Model will ship alongside Yakuza Kiwami game on January 21.
The official Japanese PlayStation blog announced on Thursday that Sony will release a special “Yakuza Kiwami” model of the PlayStation 4 console that will celebrate the release of Sega‘s Ryū ga Gotoku Kiwami (Yakuza Kiwami) game.
The bundle will include the special PS4 unit in either Jet Black or Glacier White colors, a laser-etched Yakuza Kiwami design on the unit’s hard drive bay cover, a DualShock 4 controller, and a monoaural headset. The bundle will cost 36,980 yen (about US$314), and will ship on the same day as the game on January 21. The bundle will not include a copy of the game.
Yakuza Kiwami is a full remake of the original Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) game, which was the first in the franchise. The game will ship on January 21 for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 for 6,490 yen (about US$53), and will contain added scenarios and cinematics. Those who purchase Yakuza Kiwami will get access to a demo version of Yakuza 6.
Yakuza 6 is slated in Japan for the PS4 this fall. The game will feature a cameo by famous actor/director Takeshi Kitano (aka Beat Takeshi).
Sega of America released Yakuza 5 in the West on December 8, and the company announced last month that it will localize and release the Yakuza 0 (Ryū ga Gotoku 0: Chikai no Basho) prequel game in the Americas.
