Some friends come and go, while others disappear right before your eyes!
Cats, as the old saying teaches us, are curious creatures. Anything that moves attracts their attention. Even things that don’t move will incite interest in ways we humans will never understand, so it’s no surprise that Ponnosuke Ponzaemon (Pon-chan for short), a three-year-old Scottish fold living in Mie Prefecture in western Japan, was quite taken by a little green visitor who came by for a visit on Pon’s front porch.

▼ “Oh, why hello there! How are you doing this fine–“
▼”…huh? Well that’s strange. I was just talking to him.”
Pon-chan may have meant no harm, but from the frog’s point of view, when a natural predator 10 times your size approaches you, you need to get your butt out of there! And as we all know, the safest place to be is directly on top of a potential enemy.
▼ “Hmm… He just *has* to be around here somewhere!”
▼ “I swear, he was just there.”
Ponnosuke’s encounter may have been short-lived, but as they say, there are plenty more fish in the sea. Or frogs in the pond, in this case.
