You could say this is a video of a cat having a great time with a paper bag, but that’s only half the story.
Cats, being proverbially curious and physically flexible, tend to go poking about and exploring any mysterious parts of their home or neighborhood they come across. So when Japanese Twitter user @black_arichin’s brown tabby Ran came across a paper bag lying on the floor, his interest was immediately piqued.
After pinning the bag down with a paw, Ran dove onto the sack like a pro wrestler going off the top rope (as opposed to a pro wrestler helping a woman with her bra). But for all the rambunctious fun he was having outside the bag, Ran showed very little interest in going inside.
It turns out there was a good reason why, as shown by this candid cat video.

See, while the bag appears to be empty, it’s actually already occupied by one of Ran’s feline housemates, who reacted to his secret fort being crumpled with a surprising amount of calm.
As a matter of fact, the original occupant is so good-natured that he quickly exits the bag, letting Ran have it all to himself to play with however he wants. Unfortunately, the video ends before we get to see whether Ran then crawled inside himself to lie in wait for other unsuspecting passersby, but something tells me he probably did.
