You won’t be able to “Lego” of this page without finding out more about this Lego-like burger.
No matter where you are from in the world or how old you are, there is something tantalizing about building something out of Lego. You might enjoy piecing together various colors into random shapes and sizes, just feeling the satisfaction of snapping them into place, or you might follow the intricate picture instructions to create something out of this world. If you ever looked at one of those bricks and thought you’d like to eat it, you are in luck! One restaurant in the Philippines has taken this classic toy and used it as the inspiration for their burger joint, Brick Burger.
According to the restaurant owner, the Brick Burger really is a life-size version of the Lego world, from the solid bright color scheme of the decor to the single-block salt and pepper shakers. But what really stands out (builds up?) are the burgers with buns in the shape and colors of a 4×4 brick-based building block (for legal reasons, we probably shouldn’t use the name Lego).
These vibrant buns look as if they were placed in a Lego oven, cooked at the perfect temperature, for the perfect amount of time and came out ready to assemble! The colors are reminiscent of the recent fad of different colored burger buns from Japan, which only seems to make the food that much more appealing. There’s everything from a fiery red and a mustard yellow to a coal black burger that looks like it has mushrooms on it.
Looking at their Facebook page, the overall look and feel of the restaurant is probably something that would not be out-of-place in Japan with its tremendous number of themed cafes. However, at the moment, the only place to visit this one-of-a-kind restaurant is in the Philippines. Before you go, you might want to familiarize yourself with the lovely country, but it’s too bad you won’t be able to see the knock-off Gundam anymore. Happy block building/eating!
