From Harley Quinn terrorising Captain America to Deadpool stealing Thor’s hammer, these creative scenes are brimming with superhero personality.
Despite the intense rivalry between DC and Marvel comics at the box office, some superhero fans prefer to spread their love across the competing universes with fan-made art, stories, and in the case of this Japanese photographer, an eye-popping collection of images that unites them all.
Created by Osaka-based photographer hotkenobi, this series of images features figurines from a number of well-known franchises, including Disney’s Star Wars. What’s blowing everyone away, though, is the way the figurines have been set up for each photo, with groups of unlikely friends and foes creating hilarious scenes that are absolutely brimming with personality.
Let’s take a look at some of the stunning shots in the collection below!
The most recent works in hotkenobi’s collection, which are currently being liked and shared by thousands of users online, show superheroes battling against Japanese beer cans.
▼ Iron Man and the Hulk do battle with the mighty cans.
Batman, however, has a tough time keeping up with the legendary powers of superheroes like these!
While some unleash their strength upon beer cans, Wolverine uses his metal claws to help pop open a bottle of Budweiser.
Dr Strange works with an instant noodle snack as a mandala of light, with Spiderman and Deadpool by his side.
Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn also makes an appearance in the collection, with the cheeky character terrorising Marvel rival Captain America.
She’s not the only one picking on Captain America, with Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Hulk seen inserting the hero’s shield into the CD player.
When Deadpool appears on the scene, though, no one is safe, with Dr Strange losing his cloak, Captain America losing his shield, and even the mighty Thor losing his hammer to Marvel’s popular antihero.
It’s not just the poses in the collection but the added special effects that make these images really memorable.
▼ Here Iron Man can be seen calling his suit to him.
This shot is filled with so much action and personality that you can almost hear C-3PO demanding to be put down immediately!
There’s actually a wide variety of Star Wars images scattered throughout hotkenobi’s collection, with dramatic photos like this one of Kylo Ren.
There are also more lighthearted, peaceful photos, like this one of C-3PO enjoying Japan’s sakura cherry blossoms.
And this one of Rogue One’s K-2SO taking shelter from the rain under a leaf with an Ewok.
There’s also a tired stormtrooper making a call home to mum on a Japanese payphone.
Whether you’re into Marvel or DC comics, Star Wars or even Pokémon, there’s something in this spectacular photo collection that will have you smiling from ear to ear.
