The story has a surprising twist.
Virtual YouTubers may be the hottest new thing in Japan, but not everyone loves them. In fact, some people downright hate them. Virtual YouTuber Kagura Mea shared the following story on June 16 about her own interaction with a hater:
“I didn’t mention this to you guys before,
But quite a while ago I received cow dung from a hater.
And just a few days ago, I got some compost.
I was super pissed.
Pissed.
So…
I, Kagura Mea…
Started a garden in my kitchen.
I tried growing some mustard greens and spinach.
I’ll let you know if I manage to harvest something.
I’m looking forward to the meal.”

Kagura Mea is a sweet girl on the surface, but she also has a fearsome side. She has a reputation for letting out exaggerated screams at minor inconveniences and acting cheeky. She posted a video in March making fun of haters’ comments. Her previous Twitter account @Freeze_Mea was suspended in May during a Twitter purge that also targeted the controversial mascot character Chiitan, among other so-called “underage” online personalities.
