If the standard black and Destiny-themed white models of PlayStation 4 aren’t quite exotic enough for you, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan might have just the thing. That is, of course, providing you like your gaming with a dose of slime…
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, say hello to the Dragon Quest “Metal Slime Edition” PlayStation 4.
Update: It would seem that the Slime we see sitting atop the PS4 in the above image will, in fact, be a part of the console, coming as a sort of USB cover. Suddenly, we want on of these things even more!
Unveiled at the very end of today’s Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia Press Conference (phew!), details about the special-edition PlayStation are still scarce, with Sony promising more info at a later date.
The silver PS4 will likely be launched alongside Dragon Quest Heroes – a hack-and-slash adventure set in the familiar Dragon Quest world, which was also announced at the conference and coming to PlayStation 4.
Sadly, unlike the image shared by Sony just now, the silver console doesn’t appeal to come with a blobular slime draped over its front edge. We can confirm, however, that the console comes with metal slimes embossed on both the controller and console, and that due to its finish, the Dragon Quest Metal Slime Edition PS4 is very, very shiny!
We’ll hopefully have more details about this special-edition PS4 soon.
