Fans of the hit anime Attack on Titan may also know it by its original Japanese title, Shingeki no Kyojin, which literally translates to “Advancing Giants.”
Giants aren’t the only thing advancing upon us, though, because now there’s an unusual advertising campaign announcing the arrival of Shingeki no Bijin, or Advancing Beauties, and the war we’re fighting is the war on body hair.
The new advertising tie-up with Japan’s TBC beauty treatment company sees members of the Survey Corps taking their swords to unwanted body hair. Customers who visit a TBC salon for an epilation session will have the chance to be one of fifty lucky winners to receive a tour of Gunkanjima, the main filming location for the soon-to-be-released live-action Attack on Titan movie.
▼ Could this be the end of the hairy lady armpit trend? The tagline reads: “I think the most effective way to get rid of unwanted body hair is with TBC.”
The hair removal service is being provided in conjunction with Japanese make-up company épiler, with special prices during the campaign period discounted by up to a colossal 92 percent.
Women aren’t the only ones able to take part, as there are also special services available for male customers.
▼ This particularly zealous Survey Corps member yells out, “I won’t leave one of those whiskers behind!!”
The campaign period runs until September 4. After that, we’ll have to fight the hairy war on our own, at regular prices.
