As the weather starts to cool down, there’s nothing better than cozying up with a nice hot cup of tea. But sometimes that plain old tea cup and bag isn’t enough to lift your spirits on a particularly gloomy day. That’s where this darling DIY tea bag design comes in. With a relaxed expression that seems to say “Aww, that’s the stuff,” this little tea cup bather will keep you company and warm your spirits on even the grayest of days.
Made by Genrei Studio and posted on Pixiv, a Japanese online community for artists, this design is modeled after a character from Kantai Collection, a game featuring moe anthropomorphisms of WWII naval ships. The character featured in the tea bag design is Kongou, a British naval ship “fleet girl” who speaks English and has a propensity for drinking black tea. In the Pixiv creation, tea cup Kongou holds a sign announcing that she is “nyukyou chuu,” which roughly translates as “in the middle of tea time,” and has a halo proclaiming, “You gotta make time for tea time.” She looks absolutely adorable as she relaxes in her china cup bathtub. A template and instructions on how to make the design are even included on the Pixiv website for free:
▼As you can see, it’s BYOTeabag
▼The template is in Japanese, but we know you can figure out how to make it on your own.
Whether you want to impress guests at your next tea party or just want to have a little buddy to sip away with, this Kongou tea bag design is the perfect way to make a memorable cup of tea.
