Hello Kitty has always taken center stage when it comes to Sanrio characters. But now My Melody is getting her shot at an extremely popular limited-time only pop-up cafe in Tokyo. Even My Melody’s rival, Kuromi is making an appearance at this cute cafe, which features lattes, cakes, and light snacks with the faces of My Melody and friends.
From now until November 5, Sanrio fans in Japan can enjoy the My Melody pop-up cafe. It was only scheduled to be around until October 31, but due to overwhelming popularity, the cafe will stay open for an additional five days. They have also just recently introduced two special menu items for Halloween featuring My Melody’s rival, Kuromi, whose birthday just happens to be October 31.
▼ A darker, spicier curry is used in this dish, which is made to look like Kuromi’s face
▼ Pumpkin risotto is used to make these grilled octopus rice croquettes
The My Melody cafe also offers other delicious pink items featuring their namesake character:
▼ Pink Herb Pasta
▼ Eggs benedict with pink “Maryland sauce” and strawberry My Melody milk
▼ Forest hamburger
▼ Fluffy parfait with macaroon topping
▼ One of ten different roll cakes available at the cafe and a My Melody latte
▼ Framboise Layer Cheese Tart
▼ Steamy Pink Stew
So if you’re in the mood to take a break from Hello Kitty, why not give My Melody a try? She’s just as cute and now drinkable.
