Here’s something for you, sushi and Twitter lovers the world over!
Earlier this week, a Japanese net user uploaded a free Chrome web extension which converts the Twitter “Like” heart icon into a delicious sushi icon instead. It may not be the most earth-shattering new function to ever pop up on the internet, but hey, it’s the little things in life, right?
Created and uploaded to the Google Chrome web store by Twitter user @tatzyr, the new web extension is a simple but cute addition to any sushi lover’s Twitter experience. The original announcement was met by a flurry of Likes and retweets earlier this week:

Net users can install the extension with a single click of the blue “Add to Chrome” button located at the top right-hand corner of the Chrome web store’s screen:
Not wanting to pass up this opportunity, we installed the web extension with a simple click and then quickly opened up the RocketNews24 Twitter feed. Sure enough, the usual “like” hearts had been replaced by pictures of little sushi rolls!
It remains to be seen whether different total numbers of “likes” change the icon from gray-scale sushi rolls into more colorful, delectable-looking rolls, but we suppose finding out is all part of the fun.
Japanese net users reacted to the news of the sushi web extension in varying degrees of excitement:
“Just installed it!!”
“It would be really funny if the text stopped saying ‘Like’ and instead said ‘Delicious’ as well.”
“Meh. I don’t see what all the fuss is about.”
“But sushi isn’t even delicious…I’d rather the icon be kimchi!”
“Just how much do you guys hate hearts? LOL.”
We’ll be sure to keep you updated if any other fun web extensions are released. Who else seconds a Twitter “Like” kimchi icon!?
