The Pikashoe is one of more than a hundred creatures currently being captured in the colourful sneaker Pokédex.
With Pokémon Go fans continuing to catch ’em all by walking great distances in cities around the world, gamers need patience, tenacity, and a good pair of kicks to get them to all the places they need to go. Finally, the world has footwear that’s custom-built for the task, thanks to a creative Tumblr and Instagram account called Pokémon Nike ID, or PokeID, which has a huge array of Pokémon-themed shoes, all created though Nike’s online customization service, Nike ID. Fans are being invited to add their own ideas to the growing collection to help complete the 151 Pokémon listed in the PokeID Pokédex on the Tumblr account, so anyone can purchase their favourite Pokémon shoe at the click of a button. Let’s take a look at some of the ideas fans have come up with so far!
The Nike KD9 style has all the components required to bring Bulbasaur to life.
These kicks capture all the blue-and-white beauty of Dragonair.
Fans can walk like a Caterpie in this beautiful green and orange pair.
The print on this shoe looks like it was made for Tangela!
And even Exeggutor gets a shoe to call its own.
Starmie looks gorgeous as a pair of LeBron XIIIs.
While these velcro straps will cradle your feet like Psyduck cradles his head!
The legendary Mewtwo gets into the Air Max 1.
And any type of shoe can be used to create Pikachu!
Thanks to the record of different styles created by fans on the Tumblr account, purchasing the shoes is incredibly easy. All you have to do is click on your favourite design, and you’ll be taken to the Nike ID customisation page, where the style, colour and components have already been entered, meaning you just have to add it to the cart to make a purchase. The service is available internationally, so everyone can have Pokémon shoes delivered to their door!
