Dogs are clearly man’s best friend, until they meet dog’s best friend: another dog.
The nation of Japan has been steadily growing as a pet-loving country. True, in some ways it’s not that easy to have a pet, considering the high costs of buying from a pet store, small living quarters in major cities, and strict quarantine policies if you ever decide to leave the country with your animal friend and later want to come back. None of these have deterred Japan’s millions of dog lovers, though, and there are a few breeds that are indigenous to the Land of the Rising Sun that would make any pet owner very proud.
Many of those breeds like the Shiba Inu, Akita Inu and Kawakami Inu are well-known for their strong will and independent nature. They make for great guard dogs and companions, but can also be a source of trouble when you take them out for a walk. Take this Shiba Inu, for example, who, for the lack of a better word, “parkours” up the side of a wall when it knows another dog is on the other side.

The Shiba Inu shows off some impressive upper body strength as it wall-climbs and hangs off the edge while barking excitedly at the other dog. We can only imagine what the dogs could be saying to each other, but it probably amounts to the equivalent of “I can see you!”

It’s likely that these two dogs are familiar with each other, as many owners tend to take their dogs for walks on similar paths each day. However, you do have to wonder if this is an example of good human handling as the video goes on for about 40 seconds, a pretty long time to tolerate this kind of wall-crawling behavior. Still, you can’t miss a chance to gain a little online fame, since whether they’re climbing up a wall, frolicking through the snow or playing on a slide, animals doing playful things are pretty much what the Internet was designed for!
