The beautifully designed item looks set to be one of this spring’s most popular beverages.
If you’re looking for a way to drum up interest for a product on the Japanese market in spring, there’s no better way to grab everyone’s attention than with a limited-edition sakura-themed release. We’ve seen Pepsi Japan come out with an amazing cherry blossom flavour, and even fast food chains like Lotteria get in on the act with sakura burgers and pies, but there’s one internationally renowned label that continues to keep us waiting for a limited-edition sakura release.
Coca-Cola has given us lemon-flavoured Cokes and limited-edition ginger varieties, but when it comes to satisfying our sakura cravings, the globally recognised brand has only been able to satiate our palette with their recently released sakura milk tea.
In order to make up for it all while we wait for Coca-Cola to make our dreams come true with sakura-flavoured Coke, the company has now revealed that they’ll be releasing a very special limited-edition bottle which will only go on sale in Japan. Adorned with pink-hued cherry blossom leaves, the new white aluminium bottle will feature a stylish slim-line design.
The red-capped bottle is said to be a perfect addition to March 3 Girls’ Day celebrations, and a great gift idea for school entrance ceremonies in early April. We’ll definitely be buying it for ourselves when it’s released on 13 February, as the bottle will only be available for a limited time during spring.
The 250-millilitre (8.5-ounce) bottle will be on sale at stores around the country for a recommended retail price of 125 yen ($US1.12).
