Our Kentucky-fried prayers are answered, and kids under six can even eat for free!
Since 2014, KFC Japan has been periodically blessing us with all-you-can-eat fried chicken offers. But as much as we love the Colonel for his Kentucky-fried generosity, we have had one complaint.
Last time KFC offered unlimited chicken, it did so on Tuesdays, and before that, Wednesday was the magic day. But a meal of limitless deep-fried bird is like a workout of heavy weightlifting – you need a recovery day afterwards. No one is able to work or study at optimum efficiency as they digest/bask in the afterglow of such a glorious meal, and so this summer KFC is answering our prayers by offering its all-you-can-eat deal on Fridays!
The promotion kicks off July 20 at 218 participating branches across Japan. 47 of those are in Tokyo, with the most centrally located being the KFC branches at Shibuya Dogenzaka, Akihabara, Asakusa, Ikebukuro, Ikebukuro Nishiguchi, Tokyo Dome City LaQua, Nakano, Hacchobori, Sangenjaya, and Eifukucho.
Every Friday between July 20 and August 31, 1,380 yen (US$12.30) gets you all the original recipe fried chicken you can eat for 45 minutes, plus as many orders of curly-cut French fries, biscuits, and soft drinks as you’d like t go with it. The price for elementary school-age kids is discounted to 980 yen, and children younger than that eat for free when accompanied by a paying full-price customer (one free child per customer, with additional children eating for 680 yen each).
KFC is offering the all-you-can-eat deal for “dinner time,” which it defines as any time past 4 p.m. A complete list of participating locations can be found here, with Tokyo options consisting of:
Aeon Mall Tamadaira no Mori, Aeon Minamitsuna, Aeon Shinonome, Akabane Higashiguchi, Akihabara, Asakusa, Beans Akabane, Eifukucho, Futakotamagawa, Hachioji, Hachioji Horinouchi, Hachioji Owadamachi, Hacchobori, Hikarigaoka, Hirai, Honisshoku, Hoya, Ikebukuro, Ikebukuro Nishiguchi, Itoyokado Hikifune, Itoykado Kiba, Kabe, Kamata, Kasai, Kumegawa, Koenji, Lalaport Tachikawa Tachihi, Minowa, Mita, Mori Town Akishima, Nakano, Nihonbashi Ningyocho, Nishi Hachioji, Nishi Haijima, Obirin Gakuen-mae, Ogikubo, Oji, Sangenjaya, Shibuya Dogenzaka, Sunpop Machiya, Tachikawa, Tachikawa Minamiguchi, Takashimadaira, Takenotsuka,
Tokyo Oyama, Toyocho, Tokyo Dome City LaQua
Reservations are required, and can be made in person at participating branches or over the phone. If you’re asking your hotel’s concierge or front desk staff to help you, the phrase you’ll need for “all-you-can-eat KFC” is Kentakkii tabe houdai/ケンタッキー食べ放題.
