At Torte in Takasaki city, Gunma prefecture, anime enthusiasts and otaku alike can order their favorite anime character on a cake. Starting at 3,300 yen (US $42), Torte handcrafts strawberry whipped cream cakes topped with beautiful illustrations.
Anime characters are not limited to the doe-eyed girls of Pretty Cure seen above. Take a look at some of the other characters offered:
Not satisfied with the selection above featuring Uta no Prince-sama, Macross Frontier, and Bake Monogatari?
Torte accepts custom cake requests, made to order in the likeness of your favorite anime character. Cakes can even be shipped through the mail (as long as you live in Japan).
Anime not your thing? Torte also offers portrait cakes starting at 3,300 yen (US $42).
These one-of-a-kind confectionary masterpieces are sure to put a smile on the face of your closest otaku friend.
Torte’s anime cakes are definitely tastier than fermented soy cheesecake, cheaper than the 7980 yen (US $97) Tokyo Subway cake, easier to eat than cakes baked in an eggshell, and aren’t too cute to eat, unlike Nagoya’s adorable baby chick pudding.
