Okay, we admit we never thought we would be genuinely impressed with how “cute” a mobile phone is, but there’s no denying it — toy maker Bandai and telecommunications companies Y!mobile and Willlcom Okinawa have collaborated to come up with what can only be described as an utterly adorable cell phone. Yes, it’s an eye-catching, bright red, heart-shaped phone called the Heart 401AB model, and what’s more, it comes in a special Sailor Moon edition that you can custom decorate!
Sailor Moon fans who want to feel connected with their favorite pretty soldiers every time they use their phone can purchase the new Sailor Moon Heart 401AB phone with a “Sailor Moon Decoration Kit” that includes decoration stickers, a heart-shaped phone charger and a Moon Stick phone strap. But first let’s take a look at the phone itself, which has quite a unique design.
The Heart 401AB phone, which will be released in late March from Y!Mobile and Willcom Okinawa, is mainly targeted towards style-conscious women, and what really stands out about its design is that it’s heart-shaped by default, but can be flipped into a straight bar shape when being used as a phone! The digital display that appears on the body also gives the phone a futuristic look.
And now, let’s see the individual items included in the Decoration Kit for adding the magical Sailor Moon touch.
Here we have the original “Sailor Moon Decoration Stickers” that you can use to create a customized look for your phone. The stickers include various motifs, silhouettes, character names and even famous Sailor Moon quotes that you can place on the phone in a design of your liking.
▼Here are some examples of original designs created with the stickers:
Of course, you’ll need a charger for your phone (as sadly, it’s not moon prism power operated), and they’ve made sure that the charger in this case is special too. What better way to charge your Sailor Moon phone than with a matching, heart-shaped charger? Just looking at the darling shape is sure to brighten your day.
And last but not least, we have the phone strap with a charm in the shape of Sailor Moon’s Moon Stick with an original Heart motif attached, perfect for completing your phone’s look.
Now, phones don’t come much cuter than that, do they? We’re pretty sure there’ll be plenty of Sailor Moon fans going seriously gaga over this gadget. A limited number of the Sailor Moon Heart phones are currently available for pre-order on the Premium Bandai website for 12,600 yen (US$106), and the Decoration Kit with the stickers, charger and phone strap is sold separately for 4,298 yen ($36), both scheduled for delivery in late March.
Sailor Moon fan or not, we think it’s great to see new creative phone designs, and we certainly welcome anything that brings a little fun and magic into the world, so kudos to the developers of this truly unique phone!
