It’s a beautiful way to save and restart during uncertain times in life.

When you think about it, life is a lot like a video game. You travel, blow all your money on fancy items, create important relationships, overcome obstacles, become stronger, and even get to meet your fair share of angry bosses. It would be a shame to let all those experiences go to waste, and now you don’t have to, seeing as save points have been released into the world.

Called the Takujo Save Point, or “Tabletop Save Point”, the ornament has become a hit with gamers who are in love with the idea of being able to use the glowing device as a safety net when they find themselves at a crossroads or before making an important step into the unknown.

▼ If you fail, you can always wipe the slate clean by restarting from where you were previously…right?

Twitter users have been sharing photos of their save points in creative settings, reminding us of the relief we used to feel when one of these finally came into view after hours of collecting experience points and carefully avoiding peril.

▼ Snow caves are a beautiful shelter for the glow of a save, especially when they come in a variety of colours!

Anime figurines bathing in the light of the save point make us wonder if we’ve stepped into their world or if they’ve stepped into ours.

▼ Even Lupin and his pal Jigen could use a save point for their robbery-driven escapades!

Some commenters have noticed that the save point looks exactly like the crystal “home point” from Final Fantasy XI, which allowed players to teleport between points in the game world.

If you’d like to get your hands on one of these unusual items, the 13-centimetre (five-inch) tall variety is currently available from Village Vanguard for 7,800 yen (US$65).
