Now THIS is a real space ranger!
We’ve seen some strange Toy Story merchandise before, but this one takes it to a whole new level. Get ready to meet the new sheriff in town: “Super Mecha Toy Story Robot Sheriff.”
▼ Andy got a new toy for Christmas…
and it’s gonna kick all the other toys’ butts.
This is no fan creation – it’s an official toy recently announced by BANDAI for release this upcoming fall. It stands a full 230 millimeters (9 inches) tall, and it is packed with as much awesome as plastically possible.
But, there’s still the question: what exactly is it? Well, for starters, it’s not just one thing – it’s five separate toys joined together into one magnificent mecha. Here’s the cast of characters:
▼ We start off with Woody,
who’s looking spiffy with some rocket boots.
▼ Next is the horse Bullseye, who now has a…missile-launcher??
▼ Then there’s Slinky with tank-feet…
▼ …Hamm the hover-pig…
▼ …and Rex, who looks like he’s finally the laser-shooting
dinosaur we’ve always dreamed of.
▼ And with their forces combined, they become…
▼ Super Mecha Toy Story Robot Sheriff! Awww yeahhhh!
▼ Not sure how effective it would be to punch with a slinky,
but we’re not going to argue with awesome!
This creation story behind this Toy Story mecha was recently unveiled by Bandai in a short video. You can watch it here:
Personally I have no idea why the characters from Toy Story have basically turned into the Power Rangers, but hey, major creativity points to whoever at BANDAI came up with this thing!
If you want to get your own Toy Story mecha, it will be available starting November 25. The price is a steep 18,900 yen (US$177), but you’ve got six full months to get your piggy bank (or Godzilla bank) ready.
