The Guinness Book of World Records awarded Sofia Pichihua of Peru with a certificate recognizing her as the owner of the world’s largest Cardcaptor Sakura memorabilia on December 11.
Pichihua began her collection as a school girl over 17 years ago. Her collection consists of 1,086 items including games, trading cards, action figures, calendars, stickers, comic books, DVDs, and stuffed animals.
In order to get some of the products she travelled to Mexico and imported items from the U.S. and Japan. Her most difficult item to obtain was Nakayoshi magazine containing the first chapter of Clamp’s manga. Some of the items are valued at US$200 to US$500, with the collection overall valued at US$15,000.
With Cardcaptor Sakura‘s 20th anniversary in full swing, Pichihua’s collection is only likely to keep growing.
Fellow Peruvian Jorge Luis Vásquez Flores was awarded the Guinness Word Record for the largest collection of Saint Seiya memorabilia last year.
