Ever find yourself alone in a situation where a cloned version of yourself would really help? Unfortunately, not all of us have access to Kim Jong Un-level technology, but one talented Japanese singer has found a way around that by duplicating himself on video to make a series of pretty creative covers.
Last week, his cover of “Wrapped in Kindness,” the end theme from Studio Ghibli’s Kiki’s Delivery Service became a huge hit with Japanese netizens who couldn’t get enough of his great voice(s). Click below to see the video where one singer becomes a six-man band!
Calling the video “Wrapped Alone in Kindness,” the maker of the video, shuttoken, uploaded it last week on the popular Japanese video site Niconico Douga. It became the site’s most viewed video on May 23 and right now shuttoken has more than 200,000 views of his cover of Yumi Arai’s famous song.
In the video’s description he explains that he made the video to pitch himself as a contributor to an upcoming album of male singers covering songs from Hayao Miyazaki’s films. Judging by the reaction of netizens who loved his unique take on the song, it seems like he has a pretty good chance!
So take a look at the video below and let us know know in the comments below what you think of this creative guy! And if you can’t get enough of shuttoken, check out his tumblr to see some of his other videos where he covers a few more Japanese songs and even some in English.
