Still traumatized by Teddytaur, the teddy bear centaur from Steiff? They’re making up for it with something far more huggable — a stuffed Pikachu!
Japanese toy manufacturer and retailer Goodsmile Company recently announced a new Steiff product: an adorable limited-edition Pikachu doll! And it’s not just any doll either. The lovable Pokémon is now a high-end plush toy, and he’s looking just as cute as you’d expect.
Awww! That’s simply adorable, and, we have to say, an excellent recreation of our favorite Pokémon! And since it’s from luxury toy maker Steiff, we expect the item to be of exquisite quality. In fact, each one is handmade with soft natural mohair.

Okay, Steiff Pikachu, you’ve managed to electrify us with your adorableness! But Steiff products come at a price. The item is now available for pre-order from Goodsmile’s online shop for 45,000 yen (US$365.26) and scheduled for shipment in February next year. The doll is also available from the Pokémon official site and Amazon Japan, but it is a Japan exclusive item and they’re only making 1,000 dolls, so if this is something you absolutely have to have, you may want to act fast to order one through a friend in Japan or a reshipping company. And even if you’re not a diehard Pokémon fan, we still hope the pictures of Steiff Pikachu brought you some smiles!
