Anpanman
While Anpanman was the undisputed hero of his own anime, Hiromi Tsuru’s superbly voiced Dokin-chan was the rest of us.
Hiromi Tsuru, voice of multiple anime icons, leaves behind incredible body of work, startling prescient statement in her final spoken dialogue.
“Oh you wanted me to make Anpanman? I thought you said satanic hellbeast, haha. Silly me!”

As we sadly reported yesterday, Takashi Yanase, creator of the beloved Japanese character, Anpanman, passed away on October 13. Though you may not have heard of Anpanman or Yanase, both were immensely famous in Japan, with the cartoon being standard viewing for nearly every child.
And, as you can imagine, his passing touched the hearts of even the most curmudgeonly Internet commenter, especially when the photo above started circulating on Twitter.
The costumed superhero world was shocked recently when once beloved hero with a head of bread, Anpanman, appeared to have suffered a mental breakdown and began firing lasers at the unsuspecting crowd. The carnage was captured on video and is currently being studied by psychiatric experts and federal investigators.
