Fans of Studio Ghibli’s work who are unable to make it as far north as the Ghbili Museum in Tokyo will no doubt be excited to hear that the Laguna Gamagori Resort in Aichi Prefecture has announced that it will host a special Ghibli diorama exhibition within its amusement park from now until the beginning of March next year.
As well as the main “Ghibli Sky” display, which features scenes from Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso and Castle in the Sky, space will also be dedicated to other Ghibli classics like The Cat Returns and Ponyo on the Cliff.
When they’ve had their fill of the intricately detailed dioramas, visitors to the exhibition are invited to take part in scavenger hunts where they must track down either the tiny living balls of soot, Makkuro Kurosuke, or feline character the Baron, which are dotted around the park. There will also be sections reserved especially for Ghibli’s upcoming feature films, Kaze Tachinu and The Tale of Princess Kaguya, with some areas of the exhibit changing depending on the season until March 2 next year.

Entry to the Ghibli exhibition is included in the price of admission to the Lagunasia Amusement park within the resort, whose tickets cost 1,600 yen (US$16) for adults, 900 yen for elementary and middle school students, and 700 yen for little nippers.
Sounds like a decent day out to us!
