Okay, we know there are plenty of Sailor Moon goods out there, but for those of you who can’t get enough of the pretty soldiers, we have some more moon prism power studded goodies to share with you! This time, they’re additions to the line of precious looking Sailor Moon Pullip dolls that we’ve previously introduced, and we think the dolls may captivate you with their charm even if you’re not a Sailor Moon fan!
For those of you unfamiliar with Pullip dolls, they’re a line of artfully made fashion dolls produced by Korean designer Cheonsang Cheonha, and last year they collaborated with the Sailor Moon franchise to come out with some lovely figures of the sailor-suit-clad warriors. Until recently, however, the available dolls were of Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus and Princess Serenity … which meant that we were missing two important sailor guardians, Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter. Now, we couldn’t leave the team incomplete like that, could we?
Well, we’re happy to say that the situation has now been rectified, with both Sailor Mars Pullip and Sailor Jupiter Pullip dolls now available for pre-order on the Premium Bandai website. Yes, the mysteriously attractive Sailor Mars and the strong-willed Sailor Jupiter have now been recreated expertly as beautiful dolls, which means you can now collect the entire Sailor Moon team in Pullip form! And like the previous dolls, they come with their individual school uniforms, which of course adds to the fun.
▼Yes, you can now have the complete set of Sailor Moon and Guardians as Pullips! Their large eyes and “porcelain skin” are certainly a big part of their charm.
So, let’s take a closer look at the new additions to the Pullip Sailor Moon line:
▼Here we have Sailor Mars, or Rei Hino in her incarnated human state. She’s looking elegant in her T·A Academy for Girls uniform, a fresh change from her sailor warrior look.
▼She’s beautiful whatever angle you look at her from, isn’t she?
▼She looks stunning up-close as well. Just look at those rose-colored lips!
▼And here’s the Pullip version of Sailor Jupiter, or Makoto Kino in her present-day human state, wearing the uniform from the school she went to before transferring to Juuban Municipal Junior High School. We think the uniform goes really well with the color of her brown hair.
▼She certainly looks ready to kick some serious butt battling the forces of evil!
▼The intricate detail, especially of the face is amazing! See those large, enchanting eyes.
Now that the whole Sailor Guardian team of dolls is available, we can imagine fans would be sorely tempted to collect them all. If that’s indeed the case, you’ll need to be prepared to dig very deep into your wallets; the 31 cm (just over a foot) tall dolls are priced at 20,520 yen (US$173.66), so you’ll be paying a very hefty amount if you want to collect all five dolls. Ahh … the struggles we face!
If you’re in Japan and thinking of buying one of these dolls, they’ll only be taking orders for the Sailor Mars and Jupiter Pullips until January 26 with delivery sometime in February, so you’ll want to hurry and get your orders in before time runs out. Here’s a big thank you to Cheonsang Cheonha for bringing us a bit of moon prism magic in such exquisite form!
