Are we totally sure that’s not just an old lady dressed as Shiba Inu?
Oh Shiba Inu. Is there anything they don’t look adorable doing? Whether it’s eating cake, dressing up in costumes, or even napping on the ground, there’s just something about their expressive faces that we can’t help but fall in love with.
And for the next submission in the Shiba Inu collection of cute, here are some photos taken by Japanese Twitter user @sweet_drops of a local neighborhood dog dressed up as an old lady.
(The original tweet has since been deleted, but here’s a translation of the text.)
“The cuteness of this neighborhood dog is off the charts.”
▼ “Hey there youngin’, come a little closer.
Granny’s eyes aren’t what they used to be….”
▼ “Oh! You’re a funny looking dog, aren’t you?
Would you like to come in for some flea? Er, I mean, tea.“
What a wizened old Shiba. Here’s what Japanese netizens had to say:
“Oh my, that is cute.”
“That Shiba looks like it’s ready to go help in the rice fields.”
“Too human to be a dog, too dog to be a human.”
“I could totally see it making old person small talk like ‘It’s hot today, isn’t it?'”
Here’s some other old person small talk you might hear from the Shiba: “Wow, it’s really raining cats and dogs today, isn’t it?” “The bark on the trees is really nice this time of year.” “Do you think I’m fat? I’d say I’m just a little husky.”
Ah, sorry. That was really paw-ful of me.
