Meet the latest feline star of Instagram.
You don’t have to be human to attract attention on social media sites like Instagram. In fact, if you’re a furry pet like a cat or a dog, chances are you’ll pick up thousands more admirers than the poor human who actually feeds and photographs you. So far, we’ve seen stars like Loki the vampire cat, Maru, the clothes-wearing feline, and Mash, an exotic shorthair who inspired an entire shoe collection. The newest cat to join the popular crowd of cats on Instagram is Sol-kun, who’s racked up 142,000 followers on the photo-sharing site, thanks to an unusual feature that sets him apart from the rest.
The defining feature of the Tabby/Siamese mix is his blue eyes, which are constantly crossed. While he’s been appearing on Instagram with his older sibling, Cocomo, for the past four years, Sol is the one who’s always stolen the show.
Ever since he was a kitten, Sol has always had crossed eyes, which led to some Instagram followers giving him the nickname “Yorime-chan”, as yorime means “cross-eyed” in Japanese.
Now 5 years old, the cat’s crowd of followers has grown to include people from around the world, with the cute cat receiving adoring comments from people in a number of languages like English and Swedish.
With so many gorgeous photos of Sol-kun appearing online, it’s easy to see why he’s so popular. Even the simple act of preening has followers gushing over his beauty.
Enjoying a treat from a spoon and ending up with food on his face only adds to his cuteness!
▼ Whether he’s waiting for his food…
▼ Enjoying a big stretch…
▼ Or striking a model pose…
▼ This cat lives life to the fullest, without any concern for his looks!
What some might call a birth defect is this cat’s most strikin feature and a source of beauty that’s continuing to win hearts around the world. Be sure to stop by his Instagram account, where Sol-kun and his sibling greet people on a near-daily basis, reminding us to embrace our individual quirks and idiosyncrasies, whatever they may be!
