Shiba Inu are adorable, and over the years we here at RocketNew24 have brought you stacks of articles filled with photos to prove just how darn cute they are.
But why exactly are we so drawn to this loveable breed of dog? Recently the Japanese information compilation site Naver Matome put up a collection of tweets, dividing up the reasons people so adore Shiba inu into five different categories. Below you can read their incredibly rigorous scientific methodology, so you can see for yourself if you come to the same kawaii conclusions that they did (spoiler: Yes. Yes, you will).
- Reason #1: Shiba Inu are a seriously hardy breed, able to handle even the nastiest weather without too much trouble.
▼ “Must…take…master…for walk. Can’t…give…up…”

▼ “It’s just a little typhoon. Close your eyes and it’s fine!”

▼ “Look at that lame corgi afraid to get a little wet.”
Twitter (@mintoyan3)
▼ “What was that? It’s below zero outside? I couldn’t hear you over how durable I am.”

- Reason #2: Shiba Inu have spider-like climbing abilities.
▼ “I saw a cicada do this and thought it’d be fun to try.”

- Reason #3: Shiba Inu are masters of camouflage.
▼ Woah, I could’ve sworn there was a dog here a second ago! Where’d he go?

▼ “Don’t worry, this has happened to me before. Move along, citizen.”

▼ Did you know that Shiba Inu turn completely invisible when hiding behind jars?

▼ The rest of the wall is part of the dog too, he just doesn’t want to de-camouflage it right now.

▼ We’ve seen this guy before, ready to visit the beach and surprise people when they realize he isn’t an actual crab.

- Reason #4: Shiba Inu miss you when you’re gone.
▼ “She said she wouldn’t be back for five whole minutes. Did I do something wrong?”

- Reason #5: Shiba Inu make excellent snuggle-buddies.

▼ Even kotatsu aren’t safe from the snugness-seeking Shiba Inu.

So do you agree with their reasons? Considering some Shiba Inu can even pass as humans, the camouflage category is certainly very strong. Not so sure about the snuggling category though, since some Shiba Inu are infamously heartless. Let us know what you think!
