Fans can thank Takara Tomy for a whole slew of official goods for their favorite card capturing elementary school girl.
Sakura Kinomoto, the lead character for the acclaimed series Cardcaptor Sakura, probably celebrates her birthday every year with cake, presents and her closest friends. This year is a little different though, as her birthday came with a huge announcement from Takara Tomy that is going to excite all the Cardcaptor fans out there. While there have been plenty of goods produced based on the iconic items in the show, none of them could truly recreate the scenes fans are familiar with…until now.
Sealing Wand & Clow Cards
Sakura’s very important sealing wand is what allows her to seal the Clow Cards back in their original places. You too can become a chibi cardcaptor with your own wand from Takara Tomy. When you swing the wand through the air, Sakura’s voice rings out and the top lights up, just like the show. Touching the wand to any of the official Clow Cards will also reproduce Sakura’s unique phrases for each card. The wand comes with five Clow Cards and will cost 8,500 yen (US$75).
Clow Book
Assemble all your Clow Cards in the Clow Book! Clow Reed, in his original voice, has many words of guidance to offer to whoever owns this book, including advice for the day and compatibility checks. The book also interacts with the Clow Cards, making it the most vocal item in the new line-up. The Clow Book will come with three cards and cost 6,000 yen ($53).
Kero
This adorable plushy of one of the guardians of the Clow Book is happy to speak out in random phrases as you swing him around. But when a Clow Card is brought close to him, he will give you some handy information about that particular card! Kero will come with one Clow Card and be available for 5,000 yen ($44.25).
Clow Card Collection
Fans probably wouldn’t be satisfied with a ragtag, random assortment of cards, so Takara Tomy is offering this collection, which will include all 52 cards split into two sets based on their attribute (either Light or Dark). Each set will cost 6,000 yen.
Sealing Key
You can pretend you are just like Sakura and always carries this Sealing Key with you no matter where you go. In this crazy world today, you never know when a Clow Card will appear! The key also lights up and will cost 2,200 yen ($19.50).
Shoulder-riding Kero
The final item being announced is this Kero plushy that you can clip on to your clothing. You’ll be able to travel everywhere with your trusted adorable companion for only 2,000 yen ($17.75).
All of these items will be available from September, so there’s still plenty of time to save the 35,700 yen you’ll need to grab all of these amazing products. As a special treat though, this weekend at the Cardcaptor Sakura booth at AnimeJapan, a limited number of the shoulder-riding Kero will be available for advanced sale. Visitors will also get a chance to get a first look at some of the other products described here. Fuel your need for all the Clow gear as you re-watch the Cardcaptor Sakura anime that is airing again on NHK BS premium every Wednesday starting April 6 at 6:30 p.m. Don’t miss it!
