It’s hard to find a universally hated member of the central cast of hit anime Sailor Moon. Even the titular character herself, for all her whiny and lazy tendencies, is so loyal to her friends that it’s hard not to root for her.
But while having a universally appealing ensemble cast makes for a great TV show, it puts fans in a bit of a quandary when they’re buying Sailor Moon goodies. With five principal heroines, how do you choose which one’s merchandise to buy?
Easy: you don’t, and instead grab a pouch or pair of leggings that features all five of the main Sailor Scouts.
As part of its ongoing tie-up with the beloved magical girl franchise, fashion company Honey Salon has just announced a batch of six new items for its Sailor Moon line. Five of them feature Sailors Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus together, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that you’re sharing your support for the team’s members equally, not to mention that their collective powers mean you’ll be well protected from any monsters that attack you during the week.
The most eye-catching of the new items are these polyester/urethane tights.
If you’re rocking that tights and skirt combo shown above, though, you just lost all your pockets. To remedy that, Honey Salon thoughtfully offers a solution with pouches in two different sizes, each available in pink, black, or white. Oh, we’re sorry, that’s “ivory.”
Hay fever season isn’t quite over in Japan. Thankfully this heart-shaped Sailor Moon tissue case, available in the same colors as the pouches above, allows you to take care of your runny nose in style.
Worried about smudging your makeup as you blow your nose? Once again, the Sailor Senshi have got you covered with this 14.5-centimeter-tall (5.7-inch) mirror, which includes a built-in cover and stand.
Of course, you’ll need something to carry all this in, which is where Honey Salon’s Sailor Moon cotton tote comes in. The only item not decorated with the Sailors themselves, the bag is instead emblazoned on one side with the Cosmic Heart Compact, Sailor Moon’s third transformation item which she began using during Sailor Moon S.
The mirror is the cheapest of the six items, with a price of 2,376 yen (US$23.30), and the tights the priciest at 5,940 yen. All are available directly from Honey Salon here, or from Premium Bandai here. Go nuts, Sailor Moon fans!
