It’s been 22 years since the very first episode of Sailor Moon was broadcast, but that doesn’t mean sponsor Bandai has exhausted all of the hit anime’s merchandising possibilities yet. With everything from Sailor Moon dresses to perfume to lip balm available, over the past few months Bandai has been making plenty of compelling arguments for fans to open their wallets.
So perhaps it’s fitting that one of their newest items is just that, a stylish leather Sailor Moon wallet.
As with the above mentioned items, the understated yet feminine wallet is available through Premium Bandai, the company’s high-end online retail division.
Bearing the mark of Sailor Moon’s crystal star brooch, the wallet is 10 by 19 centimeters (3.9 by 7.5 inches), making it much smaller than the previous Sailor Moon wallet offered by Premium Bandai. Despite its small size, the Sailor Moon wallet mini, to use its official name, doesn’t give up much in the practicality department, with slots for six cards and a coin pouch, always handy in a country where the smallest bill is 1,000 yen (US$9.80) and paying by card is a rarity.
If you’re looking for something to toss that wallet in, Premium Bandai also has a new Sailor Moon purse, which, like the wallet, is made from genuine leather.
The sophisticated two-tone color scheme makes it perfect for dates with your mysterious boyfriend or battles with whatever monster has shown up in your neighborhood this week. The strap can also be removed, in case you’d like to use the purse as a pouch instead (or perhaps use the chain as a weapon to fight the above mentioned monster).
Bandai is currently accepting preorders for the wallet here, and the bag here, with delivery scheduled for sometime in October. The wallet costs 13,500 yen ($133), while the purse will set you back 30,240 yen, with additional shipping and handling charges needing to be tacked on as well.
