SoraNews24

SoraNews24 is a Tokyo-based news site. In 2008, our sister site, RocketNews24 published its first Japanese-language article, and two years later came the start of our English site, which originally existed exclusively to translate articles from our Japanese colleagues. Over time we’ve expanded the amount of English-language content we produce while maintaining a focus on fun, weird, and intriguing news from Asia, particularly Japan.

Previously, this URL contained a SoraNews24 April Fool’s Day article written in 2018, the topic of which was a fictitious “breeding visa program,” in which foreign visitors would be allowed to briefly reside in Japan in order to have babies with locals in order to increase Japan’s birth rate.

Unfortunately, recently rumors have been spreading online that the Japanese government is actually offering breeding visas. To help stop the spread of this mistake, SoraNews24’s ownership has made the decision to remove the original article.

To reiterate, there is no breeding visa program in Japan. There never was a breeding visa program. There isn’t going to be a breeding visa program.
