Moe-style anime NEW GAME! gets new official website with TV broadcast and cast reveal info.
The Attack on Titan live-action movie hit the big screens in Taiwan recently, and in order to add to the hype, the local film distributors organized a cosplay segment during the movie premier event held at Ximending. Cosplay-loving fans of the series turned up at the event dressed as various members of the Recon Corps, but it was an unexpected Captain Levi cosplayer who stole the show.

Clothing, particularly T-shirts, is among the most common type of official merchandise that many anime, comic and even film makers produce to promote their work. Few fans have any qualms about showing their love for their beloved anime, manga or video games by wearing clothes that feature said work’s main characters on a daily basis, but have you ever noticed that most wearable merch only comes in men’s cuts and sizes? Even the anime collaboration tees that major fashion retailer Uniqlo produces are rarely available in ladies’ fit.
Korean online fashion retailer Daily Apparel, however, is hoping to change all that by making a series of Pokémon-themed tank tops just for the ladies, and they’re pretty much the sexiest pocket monster apparel we’ve ever seen. More pictures after the jump!
Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama is actually pretty new to the manga and anime scene, with the runaway hit franchise being his only notable work out of just three total published properties.
The giant-people-eating-regular-sized-people anime and manga series has been met with wide praise and probably, like, 400 billion trillion copies sold globally. But being a fresh new kid bursting onto the scene with no significant prior work and basically hoovering up every single yen that ever was and ever will be has earned Isayama a little undue ire among other anime creators.
To wit, some other creators – including, famously, Gundam mastermind Yoshiyuki Tomino – have passive-aggressively attacked Isayama’s drawing ability, with Tomino dismissing it as “crude.” But don’t worry, guys: Isayama says he’s practicing regularly to become a better artist, specifically by having people cosplay as Attack on Titan characters and drawing them!
Well, we didn’t ask for it, anyway. But it’s here, so somebody probably did. Was it you? It was you, wasn’t it? You and your bizarrely specific fetishes, you big weirdo. Now you’ve gone and opened the Pandora’s box of erotic manga parody, sexy Crayon Shin-chan‘s arrival is only a matter of time.
Nozoemon is a new manga series which replaces Nobita-kun with a horny high school kid and Doraemon with a cyborg from the future who takes the form of a very young girl. Just wait until you read about the hijinks they get up to.
We think it’s probably a safe bet that fans of Naruto and fans of traditional Japanese culture have a fair amount of overlap.
Naruto, after all, features ninjas flipping around in the air and throwing fireballs and whatnot, which is pretty much what we’re told old-timey Japan was all about. Well, that and, like, crazy, swelling tsunami waves so epic that artists felt the need to document them in Japan’s famed woodblock prints.
Japan is pretty famous for its packed trains that invite occasional chikan (groping incidents). Luckily, in light of improving rights for women in Japan, the law of late tends to come down pretty hard on train gropers. Assuming a victim or a witness to such a crime speaks up about it, a perpetrator typically faces immediate arrest at the next train station and can probably expect to do some jail time.
While this system works pretty well for the most part, it’s not unheard of for some unlucky guys to face career and life-destroying consequences after being falsely accused of groping. One Japanese Twitter user, in fact, posted a series of Tweets detailing a close call he had himself, relating that he was almost certainly destined for the slammer if he hadn’t been saved by the alleged victim herself.
Artist and T-shirt designer Saqman, who, despite his pen-name inadvertently reminding this writer of genitals, actually seems like a pretty wholesome guy, recently put together this spiffy and kind of spookily appropriate-looking mashup of Spirited Away and Alice in Wonderland, and it really works on a level we never really thought about!
We all know that Sailor Moon and her pals fight evil and monsters with their super powers and funky gadgets, but most importantly, in tiny flimsy sailor suit uniforms. In fact, many fans probably got into the series because of how cute the girls looked in their sailor suit inspired “battle gear”.
Well, they are the Sailor Senshi after all, so it’s only acceptable that they fight in sailor suits, but it wouldn’t hurt to bump up their defense stats a little with some protective gear, would it? If these armored Disney princesses were your cup of tea, you might like these armored Sailor Senshi as well! Check them out!
